Municipal Corporation Encourages Registration of 2018 Labour Day Projects

The St. James Municipal Corporation is encouraging members of the public to register their 2018 Labour Day projects to ensure smooth operations throughout the period.

According to Mayor of Montego Bay, Councillor Homer Davis, the process is necessary, as it helps the Corporation to guide individuals and groups in their endeavour.

“Many projects may require approval from the agency responsible for the type of works that is to be carried out. The National Works Agency, for example, may need to approve the positioning of pedestrian-crossings, and the Corporation may need to guide persons who wish to beautify areas by painting sidewalks,” said Mayor Davis.

Mayor Davis, who was speaking at a 2018 Labour Day Project Local Planning Committee meeting held at the Municipal Corporation building on April 26, 2018, also stated that compiling the data will help to deter the duplication of works.
